The adventures of a sassy gal from smalltown Kansas who chased her dreams over the rainbow, around the world, and back again.
My high school yearbook said I was "most likely to see bright lights and big cities." Little did I know that I'd eventually live in five states and four countries (with more to come) and circumnavigate the globe on a ship. Now I advise the next generation (and anyone else really) on following their own path and living the life they imagine.
The two questions that I hate more than anything - but that are asked all the time - are the standard
"Where are you from?" and "What do you do?"
I'm always trying to think of ridiculous ways to answer these questions just to shock people. Like "I'm from: Paraguay, Mars, or the other side of the tracks." Or my favorite: "What do I do? I drink wine, and lots of it." Instead, I'm weirdly passionate about asking other people,
"So, how did you end up here?"
...because, most of the time it's a better story (for my listening pleasure) and more exciting to talk about (for the other person's talking pleasure.)
When I'm not blogging, I'm usually rocking some red shoes, planning my next trip, singing in the shower (until I form my own cover band), and scheming new and frugal ways to make my home beautiful (wherever that might be). I'm never really "settled down" because my journey is never really complete, but in the end, all roads lead to my family's little farm back in Kansas. Because, after all, there's no place like home.
